Here are the top three stories in Sandy Springs today:

1. The city council in nearby Roswell approved $1.5 million to purchase a historic home built circa 1845. The home belonged to a Savannah cotton grower. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
2. A man jumped from the fourth flour of a parking deck down the road in Dunwoody on Thursday in an effort to escape police. The jump was reportedly in response to Dunwoody police discovering that the man had multiple outstanding warrants. He was taken to the hospital but allegedly did not appear to be hurt.
