  1. The city council in nearby Roswell approved $1.5 million to purchase a historic home built circa 1845. The home belonged to a Savannah cotton grower. (Subscription: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
  2. A man jumped from the fourth flour of a parking deck down the road in Dunwoody on Thursday in an effort to escape police. The jump was reportedly in response to Dunwoody police discovering that the man had multiple outstanding warrants. He was taken to the hospital but allegedly did not appear to be hurt.   3. Ashton Woods raised $170,000 for two charities in the nearby Atlanta area as part of the homebuilder company's seventh Annual Trade Partners Charity Golf Tournament. The money will go to charities HomeAid Atlanta and Camp Twin Lakes. (Subscription: MDJOnline.com)
