- Yesterday, Jan. 4, Commissioner Bridget Thorne and Commissioner Dana Barrett were sworn-in as new members of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners. Thorne represents District 1, which includes Johns Creek, parts of Roswell, parts of Alpharetta, and parts of Sandy Springs. - Many residents of metro Atlanta, including Sandy Springs, were dealing with flooding and downed trees yesterday, Jan. 4. According to 11Alive, some families were staying home due to the extreme flooding. Even though the storms had passed, the flooding remained on Huntcliff Trace in Sandy Springs and many other surrounding areas. (11Alive)
- Riva Wolkow, owner of the Village Animal Hospital in Dunwoody Plaza and Belle Isle Animal Hospital in Sandy Springs, was featured in Appen Media's Business Spotlight. Wolkow said she focuses on "clients, patients and patient care," instead of "pushing products onto owners" like in corporate-owned vet practices.
