Sandy Springs Fire Rescue Gets Donated Water Rescue Equipment From Firehouse Subs

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation donates water rescue equipment worth more than $13,000 to Sandy Springs Fire Rescue, Tuesday. The equipment will be used to rescue victims from the Chattahoochee River.

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation will present water rescue equipment to the Sandy Springs Fire Rescue Department, Tuesday, at the restaurants Glendridge Drive location.

It’s will be used for rescuing victims from the Chattahoochee River. The equipment includes ten dry suits, one women’s tropos, 13 pairs of boots, pulleys, riggings, Steril HTP ropes, four rope bags and two Carlson River Boards worth more than $13,800.

In 2005, Firehouse Subs created the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, life-saving equipment, and educational opportunities to first-responders and public safety entities. Through the non-profit, Firehouse Subs has donated $5.7 million in 36 states and Puerto Rico, including more than $580,800 in Georgia.

In local restaurant initiatives, each Firehouse Subs restaurant recycles leftover, five-gallon pickle buckets and sells them to guests for $2. Donation canisters on register counters explain the non-profit’s mission and collect spare change, while the Round Up Program allows guests to “round up” their bill to the nearest dollar. All funds raised benefit the Public Safety Foundation.
