- The Sandy Springs Police Department has renewed its commitment to a partnership with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The department has had a detective assigned to the FBI's Atlanta Metro Major Offender Task Force for several years now. A vote in City Council unanimously approved the continuation of the partnership. (Subscription/The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- A tractor-trailer was involved in a major car crash on Monday morning, in one of at least two crashes that shut down the interstate. The tractor, which was carrying vegetables, caught fire and hit two passenger vehicles. Nobody was injured in the incident. (WSB Atlanta)
- Fulton County announced that 12 of the county's students will receive National Merit Scholarships. Among the 12, four are students at Chattahoochee High School. (Subscription/The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
