Here are the top three stories today in Sandy Springs:
- The Anti-Defamation League released a new report that said white supremacist propaganda in Georgia rose dramatically in 2022. The propaganda includes flyers on driveways and car windshields, which happened last month in Sandy Springs and Dunwoody. During that distribution, Rep. Esther Panitch (D-Sandy Springs), the only Jewish member of the Georgia House, found one of the flyers in her front yard. Panitch said, "Welcome to being a Jew in Georgia." After the incident, House Bill 30, which defines anti-semitism so that certain offenses can be considered a hate crime, was passed quickly. (Subscription: Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
- Sandy Springs’ Artsapalooza, an award-winning arts festival in Sandy Springs, is back for the upcoming Easter weekend, Apr. 8 and Apr. 9! Lake Forest Drive will be turned into an outdoor art gallery featuring artist demonstrations, hands-on art activities, live acoustic musical performances., paintings, photographs, sculptors, leather tanners, glass blowers, jewelers and more. (Secret Atlanta)
- CNW, Caribbean National Weekly, named 'Chef Rob Gayle’s Caribbean Cafe' in Sandy Springs as one of the three best Caribbean restaurants in the Atlanta area! The family-owned restaurant has been around for 16 years, with chef Rob elevating the classic Jamaican cuisine while still staying authentic. (CNW)
