Sandy Springs Shooting Suspect Arrested in Wilmington N.C.
Matthew Terry is wanted in the March shooting of ex-girlfriend Shawn Crew at Chastain Apartments on Roswell Road. A police tip led to his capture by Wilmington Police and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

Matthew Terry has been on the run for allegedly shooting ex-girlfriend, Shawn Crew, in March. Last week, a police tip led Wilmington, N.C. police and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force to Terry at a Wilmington apartment complex, according to a WWAY news story.
Terry was arrested last Thursday night and is awaiting extradition to Georgia. He was scheduled for court on Monday.

Police believe Terry, was waiting for Crewswhen she arrived home on March 24. The two argued, Crew ran out of the apartment and was shot several times - once in the face - in the breezeway or stairway. Crew, 38, survived and was taken to Grady Hospital.
Crew and Terry have a four-year-old son who was at the location when the shooting occurred but not injured. Terry may have escaped in Crews’ Mercedes-280 after the shooting, police say. Dunwoody Police found the vehicle within days in Dunwoody.

On March 26, police found Terry’s 2005 black Cadillac Escalade at a relative’s residence in metro Atlanta. Police believe he drove the Escalade from his home in Poughkeepsie, NY. He moved there from Sandy Springs about a year ago, said Capt. Steve Rose, SSPD spokesperson.
Warrants on Terry include Aggravated Assault, Burglary, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
