Sandy Springs Will Soon Redraw City Council Districts.

Councilman Chip Collins' district will see the most change. City Council members will have a final vote on the districts reapportionment on April 2.

Reapportioned districts are required by law after each 10-year census to comply with one person, one vote, city officials said.

City Councilman Gabriel Sterling helped to realign the districts. “Chip Collins [District 3] will be the most affected because he had the least of any populated district,” Sterling said.

The top part of Tibby DeJulio’s District 5 will go to Chip Collins’ District 3. Also, DeJulio and Councilwoman Karen Meinzen McEnerny will exchange parts of their districts at the south end of Roswell Road.

For voters whose precincts change, they will be notified of their new precinct before the next Election Day, Council members said. Some polling locations could be a split precinct, in which case, the voter will receive the appropriate ballot based on their address.
