School Board Member to Hold Meeting on Rebuilding Heards Ferry Elementary

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at Riverwood in Sandy Springs.

 

Fulton school board member Gail Dean will hold an input meeting on rebuilding Heards Ferry Elementary School, this week.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, at Riverwood International Charter High School.

Rebuilding Heards Ferry was approved in the SPLOST referendum approved on November 8, 2011.

During a February address to Sandy Springs City Council members, Superintendent Dr. Robert Avossa said rebuilding the school was a legal matter.

“I don’t know the last time you walked through the building, it probably should have come down a few years ago” said Avossa to Council members. “But again there is only so much capacity and capital to move projects like this. It could be that the school is rebuilt on the exact same spot; it could be that we need to examine other options.”
