  1. Stormwater damage to a Sandy Springs park trail may cost the city $5 million in repairs. Stormwater continues to damage the Abernathy Greenway linear park on the south side of the trail. The Sandy Springs City Council is awaiting further insight from engineering consultants before making a decision to move forward with plans for repairs.   2. Fulton County election workers – and mother-daughter duo – Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss are part of a group of 12 other U.S. citizens who will be awarded the Presidential Citizen's Medal today, Jan. 6. The recognition event is part of President Joe Biden's efforts to turn the two-year anniversary of the insurrection at the capitol into a day of recognition for these citizens. Those being recognized are Capitol Police, Metropolitan Police, election workers, or state and local officials. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  3. A Sandy Springs diagnostic lab paid a $16,500 settlement after a federal complaint accused the lab of not providing medical records to someone who was authorized to receive them. The federal complaint came from a woman who said the lab denied her access to her father's medical records despite authorization for her to access them.
