Windsor Meadows Park Dedication On Sept. 14

The passive four-acre park replaces three homes that were destroyed during a flood in October 2009.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The city of Sandy Springs will host an official dedication ceremony for a new park on the southern side of the city.

The event for Windsor Meadows Park, a four-acre passive park, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14. This new amenity is located along Nancy Creek at the intersection of Windsor Parkway and Northland Drive.

This new neighborhood park replaces three houses that were destroyed during the October 2009 flooding of the neighboring creek.

Sandy Springs bought the land through the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Georgia Emergency Management Agency grant flood hazard mitigation grant program. The pedestrian bridge leading to the park opened in 2017.

The address for the park is 835 Windsor Parkway, Sandy Springs, Ga. 30342. Residents should note there is limited parking in the area, and neighbors are encouraged to walk or carpool to the event. Temporary roadside parking will be available on Windsor Parkway east of the park.
