Update: Woman Shot at Chastain Apartments in Sandy Springs

Shawn Crews, 38, is in serious condition at Grady Hospital, police say.

Sandy Springs Police Capt. Steve Rose told Patch that Crews, the mother of a four-year-old child was shot twice, once in the face, just after 5 p.m., Sunday, at Chastain Apartments.

The child was not harmed.

Rose said the suspect is the child’s father and not considered a current boyfriend. Police believe Crews came home to find the suspect in her apartment. The two argued, Crews ran out of the apartment and was shot in the breezeway, Rose said.

The suspect may be driving Crews' Mercedes, Rose said.
