3 Injured After Partial Collapse At Savannah's Federal Courthouse

The injuries of the workers were not critical, Savannah fire officials said.

SAVANNAH, GA — Three people were injured after the third floor of a federal courthouse building near Wright Square partially collapsed Tuesday, according to the Savannah Fire Department.

The workers' injuries are not critical, fire officials tweeted around 5:30 p.m. They were treated at a local hospital.

People were asked to avoid the areas of Whitaker, Broughton, west of Drayton and Liberty streets.

Construction is ongoing at the courthouse, officials said. Officials closed York Street and the construction site, pending an inspection. A timeline for the inspection is unknown. It is also unknown what caused the floor to partially collapse.
