Southwest Pilot Arrested For DUI On GA Plane: Reports

Southwest Airlines told media it is reviewing the incident, which caused a flight delay Wednesday at a Georgia airport.

SAVANNAH, GA — A Southwest Airlines pilot was arrested on an airplane after being accused of driving under the influence Wednesday, according to media reports.

The arrest of pilot David Allsop delayed a Southwest flight by five hours at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, both WSAV and WTOC reported.

Allsop was arrested by airport police and received a $3,500 bond, according to Chatham County Jail records.

Southwest released the following statement to Patch:

"We're aware of a situation involving an employee on Flight 3772 this morning from Savannah. The employee has been removed from duty. Customers were accommodated on other flights, and we apologize for the disruption to their travel plans. There's nothing more important to Southwest than the Safety of our Employees and Customers."
