  1. A 5-year-old child in Smyrna was the victim of a hit-and-run Sunday morning by a neighbor. The child wanted to test out his go-kart birthday present and ended up the victim of the accident. The child suffered from a broken femur and a concussion and reportedly has a long road to recovery ahead of him. (Smyrna-Vinings Patch)
  2. Smyrna is following the Biden Administration's mandate to test for lead pipes in homes older than 1986. City contractors will be checking the type of material being used, digging a basketball-sized hole near the meter to verify the material and refill the hole, and potentially changing out the water meter to avoid disruption. As of now, it is unclear whether residents will have to pay for these replacements. For any questions, you can contact the state's staff representative. 3. Christopher Long, 31, was the victim of a stabbing early Wednesday morning at a gas station on the 2600 block of Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway. Reports say the incident began as an argument with a roommate over property that turned violent. Long was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. After the incident, police discovered that Long had two outstanding warrants out-of-jurisdiction that will be addressed. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
