Here are the top three stories today in Smyrna-Vinings:

  1. Emmy Award-winning writer and producer Howard Gordon spoke with Good Day Atlanta about his newest television hit "Accused," which premiered on FOX this past January. The "Accused" premiere was the most-watched drama debut for FOX in the last three years and features 15 episodes that are 45 minutes long and focused on a different person in each episode. You can watch new episodes on Tuesday nights at 9:00 p.m. on FOX 5 Atlanta. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
  2. The Chandler Park Music Festival, which has run for 11 years in nearby Atlanta, recently posted on social media that the event will not be taking place this year. The festival is the fourth festival in the Atlanta area to cancel in the last two years. Organizers did not give a reason for the cancellation, and it is currently unclear whether or not it will return in future years. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  3. The Marietta History Center in nearby Marietta will be offering hands-on workshops on how to properly clean and preserve headstones at the Marietta City Cemetery on three Saturdays in May. The Marietta Cemetery is a historic cemetery that opened in the early 1830s and is the final resting place of many Marietta and Cobb County citizens. The workshop will also include a brief tour and a history lesson on the cemetery, and the cost for non-members is $25 and $15 for members. (Cobb County Courier)
