  1. A geography teacher at Kennesaw Mountain High School in Cobb County was arrested on Monday for possessing alcohol on school grounds. Jason Hammett had an open bottle of whiskey in his car and a soda bottle filled with whiskey in his classroom. He was charged with misdemeanor alcohol possession on school grounds. (WSB-TV)
  2. The City of Smyrna will be hosting the annual Jonquil City Jog 5K on Apr. 15. The event will benefit the Campbell High School Educational Foundation and Support Smyrna. You can register for the event and learn more here. (City of Smyrna, GA Government via Facebook)
  3. A rezoning request by Kenneth B. Clary for developing a property at 4701 Post Oak Tritt Road in nearby East Cobb was postponed until May's Planning Commission meeting. The 13-acre property has been owned by the Clary family since the 1960s and the original request was to rezone from R-30 to R-15, which would have doubled the number of units allowed on the property to 20. Currently, the property allows 10 units under its current zoning. (Cobb County Courier)
