Cobb Eatery Named One Of America's Best BBQ Joints

ATLANTA -- The Food Network has recently named “America’s Best Barbecue from Coast to Coast,” and Cobb County-based Heirloom Market made the list.

“You can find remnants of the old-school style even in new-school Atlanta joints like Heirloom Market, where high-quality meat is prepared in a range of styles (think sweet and spicy Korean sauce) that include the local classic tomato sauce,” the network said.

Other Georgia restaurants included were Poole's in Ellijay and Two Brothers in Ball Ground.

"In the 1970s and 1980s, before cheffy barbecue arrived on the scene, Atlanta was all about heavily smoked chopped pork served with a sweet and vinegary tomato sauce," the network said. Smokin’ Pig near Savannah and Macon’s Fincher's Bar-B-Q were also included.
