Man Wanted In Slaying Of Smyrna Woman Taken Into Custody In Texas

Brian Marsh Semrinec of Smyrna was taken into custody days after the body of Shuyi Li, 28, was found in her residence, police said.

SMYRNA, GA -- A Cobb County man facing criminal charges in the death of a Smyrna woman has been apprehended, Patch has learned. Brian Marsh Semrinec of Smyrna was taken into custody by authorities late Monday in Dallas, Texas, Cobb police said.

Semrinec is facing charges of aggravated assault and murder in the death of 28-year-old Shuyi Li, whose body was found in her home, according to Cobb police spokesman Dana Pierce. Police did a welfare days ago at the home of Li after she didn't show up for work, Pierce said.

When officers from the Cobb Police Department's Precinct 3 arrived at the residence in the 2300 block of Willington Shoals Place, they had to force their way inside, police said. That's when they found Li's body.

Semrinec evaded police for days. Authorities believed that he was driving the victim’s white 2015 Honda CRV with Georgia tag CDD3152.

Cobb police have not revealed any details related to the suspect's capture or how they knew he was in Dallas.
