Robotic Surveillance Cameras Are Helping Cobb County Catch Violent Criminals: VIDEO
Flock license plate recognition notifications are helping Cobb County officers track down violent criminals, police said.
COBB COUNTY, GA — Robotic surveillance cameras have been helping Cobb County police catch violent criminals.
Police dash cam video from May 31 shows a Cobb County police officer responding to a stolen vehicle on Lee Industrial Boulevard and Mableton Parkway. A suspect who police said stole a vehicle at knifepoint earlier in the day was wanted. Using an alert from a Flock license plate recognition notification, Cobb officers were able to track down the stolen vehicle.
“After a brief chase [Officer Gammons] was able to take the suspect into custody,” according to a Facebook post. “Afterwards it was determined the same suspect was a wanted fugitive for a weapons conviction in Virginia.”

Holly Beilin, who works in external affairs for Flock Safety, told WSB-TV that Flock has helped officers catch violent criminals quickly.
“We’re able to actually help locate these individuals, even if they’ve again switched jurisdictions, even if they’ve driven down the road, even if they’ve crossed county lines,” she said.
