Here are the top three stories in Smyrna-Vinings today:

  1. Six Flags Over Georgia will re-open for its 56th season on Mar. 4. This year, the park will debut Georgia’s first-ever single rail coaster while also celebrating two other coasters’ half a century in service. If you’re looking for a job, the park — less than a half hour from the Smyrna-Vinings area — is now hiring employees to fill a variety of positions. (WSB-TV)
  2. The Smyrna Police Department has announced the registration period for the next Self-Defense Class For Women, which will focus on Rape Aggression Defense. The ‘very popular’ class will take place across four dates in March: Mar. 13, Mar. 15, Mar. 20 and Mar. 22. Those interested in attending the free classes are encouraged to sign up soon, as they usually fill up fast. (Smyrna Police Department via Facebook)
  3. A man has been arrested and charged with public indecency for exposing himself to a young girl at a Cobb County Walmart, and police records suggest it’s not his first offense. Police had previously accused Christopher Stamps of indecency at the same Walmart in 2016. Warrants show Stamps has six similar charges in the county, having even been banned from a library. (WSB-TV)
