Here are the top three stories in Smyrna-Vinings today:
- Smyrna officials will be studying the water pipes and making sure residents have a safe source of water. The federally-funded program is only checking water lines in homes built before 1986 because the use of lead pipes was banned after that year. About 5,000 properties are being checked as a result. Smyrna will start off checking the lines in wards two and six before hitting the rest of the city. It is too early in the project to predict how many water lines will be replaced, but the study will take about a year to complete. (11Alive.com WXIA)
- Atlanta Pizza Truck founders Alessio Lacco and Sofia Arango are not only serving delicious pizza but teaching customers how to make it. Pizza-making lessons are now available daily and you can book online as an individual or as a larger group event. The cost is $100 per person and that includes a glass of wine, an appetizer or salad, dessert, and the main course of pizza. For more information and to book your pizza-making experience, click here. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- New age-processing technology might help in solving the case of 9-year-old Anthony Murrill who went missing from his home on Nov. 14, 1971. Neighbors reported Murrill got in a car with an unknown man and that was the last time anyone saw him. It has been more than 50 years and his family and the Forensic Services unit are hopeful that with new technology some answers can be found. The technology has provided a generated image of what he may look like today at 61 years old. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
