Whitefield Academy Celebrates 25 Years!

Smyrna's Whitefield Academy is proudly celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Twenty-five years ago, a small group of parents and strong prayer warriors came together with the single purpose of establishing a true Christ-centered school in the Atlanta area whose mission was to provide a rigorous academic environment with a Biblical worldview and an unwavering belief in Jesus Christ.

As Whitefield Academy celebrates its 25th anniversary during the 2021 - 2022 school year, the school continues to center on this mission. This charming Smyrna campus has come a long way from its humble beginnings as a former horse farm in the country. Since it’s first year in 1997, Whitefield has grown into a community of almost 900 students in grades PreK through 12th grade and calls a 100-plus acre campus in Smyrna home.

“Twenty five years ago, our founders established a mission that has provided for us a solid foundation in Christ,” states Head of School, Kevin Bracher. “We take that charge seriously and remain steadfast in our unwavering focus on our foundational beliefs and core values, embracing a family-based community, focused on providing top-notch academics, along with instilling in students a passion for others ahead of self in a truly Christ-centered atmosphere.”

Brostrand Hall, the new Lower School building, opened its doors in 2020 and complements the existing Founders Hall and Morris Hall buildings for the Middle School and Upper School. As the campus grew over twenty five years, the community followed suit with over twenty Christian life programs, more than fifty athletic teams and forty fine art programs and events for students and families. Whitefield recently welcomed the Class of 2021 to it’s Alumni Association resulting in a milestone of over a thousand alumni worldwide.

“With all of its astounding growth, one thing is for certain,” remarks Bracher. “Whitefield Academy believes that parents, students, faculty, and staff all play an integral role in achieving the mission of the school and fostering a close-knit community that we take pride in.”

The private preparatory school has already begun celebrating its 25th year with a Founders Day Luncheon in August and its annual Great Day of Service in September, which supported over 40 charities across the Atlanta area. This September, Whitefield hosted its second Night of Worship event for the entire school community and welcomed alumni back on campus for Homecoming on October 1st. More celebratory events are scheduled for the school year including Whitefield’s bi-annual fundraising auction in April 2022.
