3rd Murder Suspect Charged In Fatal Lithonia Shooting
Two other people were arrested in connection with a Lithonia apartment shooting that killed a 30-year-old man in March 2023.
LITHONIA, GA — A third man has been arrested in connection with the March 2023 shooting death of a 30-year-old man at a Lithonia apartment complex, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said.
Authorities said Stephan Jamel Stewart, 26, was arrested on April 17 by the DCSO's Fugitive Unit and the U.S. Marshals Office.
They accused Stewart of being involved in a shootout with several people they say killed Michael McBride on March 16, 2023 at the complex.

Stewart was charged on suspicion of murder, aggravated assault, first-degree burglary, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or first offender probationer, authorities said. He is being held at the DeKalb County Jail without bond, authorities said.
Two other people, Atlanta residents Alphonson Pitts, 33, and Deon Davis, 37, were previously arrested in this past March and November 2023 respectively in connection with the fatal shooting, authorities said.

They are accused of shooting in a parking lot and trying to go into an apartment by kicking down the front door.
Both Pitts and Davis are being held without bond and were charged on suspicion of murder and aggravated assault, authorities said.
