Road Collapses, Shuts Down In DeKalb

STONE MOUNTAIN, GA — Part of a road in the 4500 block of Stonegate Industrial Boulevard collapsed Wednesday, shutting down the street, DeKalb County officials said.

The collapse happened at 4589 Stonegate Industrial Blvd. in Stone Mountain. Officials say it is closed to through traffic, and people are asked to avoid the area.

It is unknown what caused the collapse. A contractor was assessing the road damage for repairing, officials said.
