World War II Veteran Celebrates 100th Birthday In Dekalb County
Dick Deneke, a Park Springs resident, celebrated with drinks, dinner and dancing.

STONE MOUNTAIN, GA — A World War II veteran living in Stone Mountain celebrated his 100th birthday on March 4, according to a news release.
Dick Deneke, a Park Springs resident, enjoyed the special day with 50 friends at the award-winning resort-style life plan community’s clubhouse dining room. Festivities included a happy hour followed by dinner, dancing and cake, the release stated.
Deneke served in both the European Theatre and the Pacific Theatre, according to the news release. He said his secret to a long, happy life is to stay active, which is why he works out several times a week at the Park Springs fitness center and enjoys playing poker and bridge with fellow members, the release stated.

He also plays golf several times a week and enjoys driving his golf cart around the Park Springs campus. As a long-time resident of Park Springs, Dick has many close friends including his "lady friend," Barbara, according to the release.
