Browning Courthouse Day Is This Weekend

A Quilt Show is included this year.

The annual Browning Courthouse Day event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in front of the Tucker Recreation Center at 4898 Lavista Road.  

This is a Free Community Event. A new activity this year is the Old Fashioned Quilt Show.  

"Bring one or more of your favorite family quilts (antique or more recent) to the Tucker Recreation Center Auditorium between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. so they may be displayed and then enjoyed by everyone during the event," said organizer Kathy Powell. "You don't have to be a quilter to participate."

AND....  

  • Take a Genealogy Workshop by Vicki Watkins from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Auditorium. 
  • Enjoy live music by Tom Hill and the Midnight Suns - kids love to help them play!
  • Browning Courthouse will be open with our collection of albums and photographs of Tucker's past.
  • The Master Gardeners will be on hand to talk about the Butterfly Garden and the lifecycle of butterflies.
  • Take the Trees of Tucker tour on the TRC property.
