CCSD Online Kindergarten Registration Begins Jan. 22
The online gateway provides a convenient choice over the traditional registration method of filling out paper forms in a school office.

WOODSTOCK, GA — The Cherokee County School District on Tuesday will open online registration for rising kindergarten students. The new online portal, which was introduced last year, will open Jan. 22 for parents to register their little ones for kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year.
CCSD's gateway, which can be accessed here, provides a convenient choice over the traditional registration method of filling out paper forms in a school office.
The gateway is for parents of children who will begin kindergarten or those who are starting school for the first time, but are "ready to enter the first grade," the school system said.

Children must have been born on or before Sept. 1, 2014, to enroll in kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year. Online registration systems will go live later this winter for pre-registering prekindergarten students, and in the spring for students new to the Cherokee County School District in any grade for the 2019-20 school year.

Through the online process, parents enter their own identification information, such as emergency contact names and numbers, which increases accuracy and eliminates redundancy. Required enrollment documents (birth certificate, proof of residency, etc.) can be scanned and uploaded to the system from home.
After entering that information into the system, parents will be asked to pick a time to bring the legally required enrollment documents to their child’s school for a brief in-person verification (if you’re unable to scan and upload records from home, the office staff can do that for you during this visit).

For kindergartners, each school will contact its new families with information about a “first visit” for students in the spring to include a one-on-one academic assessment by a teacher to gauge kindergarten readiness.
