- A 66-year-old pilot from Ammon was hospitalized after an airplane crash at the nearby Rigby Airport. The crash occurred during takeoff, with the pilot experiencing engine sputtering and attempting an emergency landing that resulted in severe damage to the aircraft. The pilot was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls and has since been released. (East Idaho News)
- Soldiers of the Idaho Army National Guard's 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team were joyously welcomed home at Idaho Falls Regional Airport after a year-long deployment in Southwest Asia for Operation Spartan Shield. Families gathered with signs and emotions, celebrating the safe return of their loved ones. The soldiers, part of Task Force Rattler, were lauded for their dedication and service during the deployment, which covered missions and training exercises across various countries in the Middle East as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. - Jeffrey Fredrickson, 32, and Irina Miller, 31, both residents of Idaho Falls, were arrested and charged with felony robbery and felony second-degree kidnapping after a woman reported being robbed and held at knife-point by them. The victim claimed that Fredrickson pulled a knife on her, demanding money and narcotics, while Miller searched her belongings. The incident involved threats and physical altercation, resulting in the arrest of both suspects, who are awaiting hearings and could potentially face life in prison if convicted. (KTVZ)
