Aurora Man Charged With Child Abuse, Sex Abuse Over Eight Years

The 77-year-old is due in court May 26 and faces up to 30 years in prison.

AURORA, IL — A 77-year-old Aurora man was charged with abusing and sexually assaulting a girl younger than 13-years-old over the course of eight years, according to the Daily Herald. He is due in court on May 26 and faces up to 30 years in prison.

Inocente Delgado, of the 500 block of Binder Street, was charged with five counts of predatory sexual assault and four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to Kane County court records. And records show Delgado is accused of committing the crimes from May 2007 to May 2015. All of the charges are felonies.

The Kane County Child Advocacy Center, a department of the state's attorney's office that investigates crimes against children, handled the case. The CAC does not comment on investigations or cases, according to the Aurora police.

Delgado is being held on $1 million bail. And court records show he needs to post $100,000 to be released while the case is in process. If he does post bond, he is to be placed on electronic home monitoring and is forbidden to have any contact with the victim.

Delgado is next due in court May 26 and faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted of the most severe charge, along with lifetime registration as a sex offender.
