Aurora Warming Centers Provide Shelter From Polar Vortex
The Aurora Transportation Center is serving as an emergency 24-hour warming shelter.

AURORA, IL -- Temperatures and wind chills have plunged well below zero in Aurora Wednesday due to the ongoing polar vortex. Residents who need shelter or are experiencing an emergency due to electricity or heating issues can find heat at a number of warming shelters throughout the city, including the Aurora Transportation Center, which is offering 24-hour shelter.
Here's a list of warming shelters in Aurora. If you're planning on heading to a warming shelter, be sure to call first to make sure they can accommodate you.

The Aurora Transportation Center will serve as a 24-hour emergency warming shelter from 6 p.m. on Jan. 29 through 12 p.m. on Jan. 31.
