Aurora Week Ahead Weather: First Half Sunny, Second Half Stormy

This week is expected to see a sunny first half and a second half peppered with storms and showers.

AURORA, IL -- Aurora will see a sunny first half of the week followed by chances of showers and thunderstorms in the second half of the week. High temperatures are expected to be in the 80's throughout the week until Friday, when it will drop to the low 70's.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather alert for Monday, warning of potential flooding on the Fox River. The alert also warns of a limited thunderstorm risk on Tuesday and Wednesday, which will grow to an elevated thunderstorm risk on Thursday.

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64.

Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 81. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 73.
