Kane County Sheriff: Yes, A Heat Warning In Fall
Make sure you stay hydrated and follow the safety tips to stay cool this weekend.

KANE COUNTY, IL — It may be the first day of fall, but it doesn't feel like it. With high temperatures in the 90's and heat indeces nearing 100, it feels like a hot summer day.
The Kane County Sheriff's Office released a notice on their Facebook page, warning residence of the dangers of high temperatures and giving advice on how to beat the heat.
High temperatures can be dangerous, but taking some of the hints below can help mitigate any risk.

- If you work outside, take a break in the shade as often as you can.
- Check up on the elderly, sick and people without air conditioning.
- Limit strenuous outdoor activities.
- Never leave kids or pets unattended in a car.
- When the temperature outside is just 80, it only takes 30 minutes for the interior of a car to heat up to 114 degrees. "Look before you lock," the National Weather Service says.
