Dennis J. Hale

Age 65, of Marseilles, IL, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington. Dennis was born in Gary, IN, the son of the late Frank and Leona Hale. He was formerly of Joliet, residing in Marseilles the past 8 years. Dennis was a graduate of Oak Forest High School. He was formerly employed as a carpenter, retiring in 2019.

Dennis was an accomplished musician. He loved music, playing the guitar and singing karaoke. He enjoyed fishing, building and fixing things.

He is survived by his wife, Joan (Oberhart) Hale of Marseilles; his daughters, Becky (Justin) Wheeler of Gardner, Stephanie Mettille, Candace (Tony Mazany) Hale of Aurora and Courtney Hale of Joliet; 2 grandchildren, Chandler and Thea Mettille; brother, David (Diane) Hale of Bolingbrook; his faithful companion, Bandit; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Eleanor Hale; and brothers, Frank and Leroy Hale.

Full military honors and committal services for Dennis J. Hale will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421, on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow. All friends and relatives are asked to meet at the information center by 1:15 p.m.
