Armed Man Live-Tweets Beverly Police Chase

Prosecutors say a man running from the cops live-Tweeted his journey, including his location.

Prosecutors say an armed man who was fleeing authorities in Beverly live-Tweeted the chase, including sharing a pic of his hiding spot in a local woman's basement with the update, "I hid the pole, here's my hiding spot."

Beverly police were called to the 10200 block of South Prospect Avenue around 3 p.m. on Aug. 3 after several people called 911 to report shots fired, according to a DNAinfo article. They reportedly saw 21-year-old Brandon McNeil running from the scene.

"McNeil ran into a nearby home, police said, and officers on the scene soon learned he was live-tweeting the chase, posting a Tweet that said, 'lol look I just left the police they lookin fa me,'" the story said.

McNeil was found with two illegal guns, one of which was a revolver with a scratched serial number. He's been charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, criminal trespassing and possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number.
