CPD And CFD Hockey Clubs Play Charity Game For Trooper Carns' Family
Chicago police and fire hockey clubs face off in a charity hockey game for fallen trooper's family March 22 at Morgan Park Sports Center.

CHICAGO — Chicago’s finest will take on Chicago’s bravest in a charity hockey game for the family of Illinois State Trooper Clay Carns, who was killed in the line of duty last December.
The Chicago Police Stars and Chicago Fire hockey clubs will hit the ice Saturday, March 22, at the Morgan Park Sports Center, 11505 S. Western Ave., Chicago. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the puck drop at 6 p.m.
All proceeds from the game will go to the family of Illinois State Trooper Clay M. Carns, 35, who was hit by a vehicle Dec. 23, 2024 while cleaning up accident debris on I-55 near Channahon. Trooper Carns left a wife, Meghan, two young children, Gray and Ally.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 per child, and all proceeds will go toward Trooper Carns’ family. Children under 12 are free. The hockey game is being sponsored by Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th), Sen. Bill Cunningham (18th), the 19th Ward Youth Foundation and the Morgan Park Sports Center.
Following the game, join the teams and sponsors for an after party at Lawlor’s Bar, 3908 W. 111th St., Chicago.
