CPD DUI Saturation Patrols Set This Weekend In Morgan Park Area
CPD Morgan Park (22nd District) will be saturating the neighborhood and monitoring traffic Nov. 9 through Nov. 10.
CHICAGO — Chicago police will be saturating the Morgan Park area in the 22nd Police District from Saturday evening, Nov. 9 to the early morning hours of Sunday, Nov. 10, looking for impaired and distracted drivers, as well as other violations.
Roving police officers will continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving in a pre-designated area. Patrols also place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations. Police vehicles equipped for speed detection are deployed to apprehend speeding violators.
In addition, the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit may also be deployed to allow officers to expedite the process of charging a person with Driving Under the Influence (DUI) prior to transporting an alleged into the nearest lockup for bonding. The mobile unit also allows for I-Bonds to be issued at the site of the DUI Saturation Patrol.
