Emerald Pipes And Drums Society Hosts Benefit At 115 Bourbon Street
The CPD Emerald Pipes And Drums Society, is hosting a benefit Feb. 1 at Bourbon Street to help fund a trip to police memorial week in D.C.

CHICAGO — The beloved Bagpipes & Drums of the Emerald Society has been invited to be a host band during the annual police memorial week in Washington, DC, in May, that honors officers who have died in the line of duty in 2024.
To help defray costs to Washington, D.C., the all-volunteer Chicago Police Department pipes and drums band will be holding a fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 1, from 1 to 5 p.m. at 115 Bourbon Street, 3359 W. 115th St., Merrionette Park.
The afternoon features food, drinks and raffles along with live music by the Stereotypes, the Larkin and Moran Brothers and the Bag Pipes and Drums of the Emerald Society. The benefit will be emceed by WGN’s Patrick Elwood, who will later emcee OSF Little Company of Mary Medical Center’s Crystal Heart Ball that evening.

Advance tickets are $30, or $40 at the door, half price for child ages 12 through 20, 12 and under free. Tickets can be purchased online on Eventbrite.
The Bag Pipes and Drums of the Emerald Society are an integral part of officer funeral services and happier occasions like parades in the Chicago area since 1982 with an original donation of $5,000 from former Mayor Jane Byrne.
