Habitual Burglar Commits Burglaries Two Days After Being Paroled: CPD
The 58-year-old has an extensive criminal history dating back 30 years, Ald. Matt O'Shea told 19th Ward residents.

CHICAGO — A habitual burglar was arrested on suspicion of burglary two days after being released on parole, Chicago police said. Vance Patton, 59, is facing felony burglary charges.
Around 8:45 a.m. Saturday, 22nd District Police responded to an alarm triggered at a business in Beverly on the 1800 block of West 95th Street. When officers arrived, they discovered a second business that had also been burglarized. While at the scene, police received a call over the radio of a suspicious person on the 9400 block of South Pleasant Avenue.
Patton was found a few minutes later and arrested. He was charged with two counts of felony burglary. He is currently on parole for two concurrent 3-year sentences for criminal damage to property. Patton has past convictions for possession of burglary tools, possession of a stolen
motor vehicle, and 15 burglary convictions dating back to 1988.

“Vance Patton has a criminal history in Cook County going back more than 30 years,” Ald. Matt O’Shea (19th) said in an email to residents. “He has victimized businesses in the 19th Ward and Evergreen Park for many years. He has been in and out of prison multiple times.”
Patton is due to appear Tuesday in Room 110 at the Bridgeview Courthouse, 10220 S. 76th Ave.
