BEVERLY, IL — A bit of good news to start your week: the dining room of the McDonald’s on 95th Street, which has been closed since the start of the pandemic, will reopen soon, and to celebrate, owner Randy Conn is hosting promotional pancake days to benefit the Chicago Police and Fire departments.

On Oct. 16 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., the restaurant is hosting an all-you-can-eat hotcake extravaganza for just four dollars. Thirty percent of sales will go to the Chicago Fire Department and the charity of their choice.

On Oct. 14 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.-5 p.m., 30% of all sales will be donated to the Chicago Police Department to assist with the purchase of new bulletproof vests.

“I’ve always been an advocate of taking care of first responders, because they protect my employees,” owner Randy Conn told Patch. “I’m truly a supporter and advocate for Chicago police and fire, and I support them in any way I can. They save lives.”

This is far from the first promotion Conn has done to help the police and fire departments. He once did a promotion where anyone who bought a frozen red drink would donate to the fire departments, anyone who bought a frozen blue drink would donate to the police department, and anyone who bought a Coke would donate to local schools.

Conn has also been a prolific fundraiser for local schools, recently donating $1000.

"McDonald's has always been a great community partner,” said 19th Ward Alderman Matt O’Shea. “We are excited to celebrate the re-opening of the dining room with this promotion supporting our first responders. I'm excited to partner with them on these efforts and can't wait to see the dining room re-opened."
