Congressman Sean Casten Plans Town Hall In McGuire Hall At SXU, Advance RSVP Required

CHICAGO — Congressman Sean Casten (IL-06) will be hosting a town hall Monday, June 2, at Saint Xavier University, 3700 W. 103rd St., Chicago. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at McGuire Hall, with the town hall starting at 6 p.m.

The Democratic congressman portends to be addicted to town halls. Since he was elected in 2018, Casten claims to have held over 80 town halls around Illinois’s 6th Congressional District. Some of those town halls he’s faced have been contentious.

Recently, Casten has been traveling out of district to address Illinois voters in GOP-led congressional districts he says are the hardest hit by the turmoil in Washington, D.C.

“Keep in mind, as nervous as we all feel about the state of our government in Washington right now, take hope and optimism from the fundamental decent characteristics of our friends and neighbors,” Casten said at a recent town hall in Evergreen Park. “If we stand up and fight for what we have, we’re going to keep it,”

Casten will be taking questions from constituents. Advance registration is required on Eventbrite. Each person wishing to attend the town hall must register themselves.

Attendees should park in parking lot 12. McGuire Hall is located in the main building on the SXU campus, next to the library.
