Patch asks readers to share their favorite spots for green beer and Irish cheer.

It’s almost that time of year when everybody wants to be Irish.

Chicago is a great place to be March 17, but we’re curious where you head if you want to party a little more locally.

So Patch asks: Where’s the best place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? Click on one of the bars or pubs below to leave a review, or vote in our poll. If we left out your favorite spot, tell us in the comments. We’ll let you know on Friday where Patch readers go for a festive St. Patrick’s Day.

: The billiards hall will feature a special St. Patrick’s Day concert from Chicago blues band Howard and the White Boys and rockers Widow Maker. Q Sports will offer specials including Bud beer for $2.75 a bottle, $2.25. a pint and $8 a pitcher; $4 Absolut and Jameson shots and cocktails; and $4.50 Mai Tais. 

: The restaurant will host its second annual Shamrocks and Shenanigans Fest beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday. Specials include $4 20-ounce drafts of six different Irish beers, and $5 Jameson and Ginger's. The party is open to the whole family. Kids eat for $2, and activities include face painting and balloon twisting by Mr. Bob. The event will also feature live music by Nebulous Forming from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

: Mexican food for St. Patrick's Day? On March 17, everybody's Irish, according to Front Street Cantina. The restaurant will host a "St. Patty's Day Bash" featuring all-day drink specials ($5 Mean Green Margaritas, $4 Jameson shots, $4 Pancakes and Syrup shots, $4 Shamrock Shake shots, $3 Guinness and Harp bottles) and live music by Gringo Starr at 7:30 p.m.

: In addition to Irish drink specials, Illinois Bar and Grill will be serving free corned beef sandwiches until they run out.

Interested in a more upscale St. Patty's Day? Orange 13 is the place to be. The Las Vegas-style lounge will offer a wide variety of beers to toast the Irish.

: Stonehouse's St. Patrick's Day party includes plenty of specials and live music by the Fort Awesome Band (9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.). There's no cover charge, so make sure to get there early for a good seat.

Enjoy Irish food and spirits all week, from March 12 to 18. On St. Patrick's Day, check out a day's worth of entertainment, including Irish dancers at 12:30 and 6:30 p.m., Irish trivia at 3 p.m., a bag piper at 8 p.m. and the Whiskey Brothers at 9:30 p.m.

The party starts at 11 a.m. Friday and goes until the wee hours of March 18. Their site promises "a party like you've never seen before. Green beer is just the beginning!"
