ELGIN, IL — Halloween is almost upon us in Elgin, and there’s still time to get in some seasonal fun. Even in the time of coronavirus, the Chicago area’s pumpkin patches are open — and there’s still time to scare up some fun with Patch’s tour of spooky yard haunts and tales of local lore.

ABBEY FARMS
Address: 2855 Hart Road, Aurora
Season opening/closing dates: Abbey Farms' "Pumpkin Daze" runs through Nov. 1
Attractions: 12-acre corn maze, hay wagon rides, duck races, petting zoo, balance-beam course, zip lines, and much more
Hours: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday; Closed Monday and Tuesday
Pricing: Weekends/Holidays: $17; Weekdays: $12; Children 2 and under can enter for free. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

WINDY ACRES FARMS

Season opening/closing dates: Windy Acres Farms' Apple and Pumpkin Festival runs through Oct. 31
Attractions: Pumpkin patches, pony rides, corn maze, petting zoo, wagon rides, and much more
Hours: 9 a.m. t0 6 p.m. daily
Pricing: Full-day pass is $14 on weekdays and $16 on weekends. Seniors receive a discount. Veterans, military members and children under 2 can enter for free.
