Elgin Teen Shot in Belly & Killed
The 18-year-old died at Presence St. Joseph Hospital.

ELGIN, IL — An Elgin teen was shot in the belly and killed Monday.
Timothy Jones, 18, suffered a single gunshot wound to his abdomen, according to the Kane County Coroner's Office. He died at Presence St. Joseph Hospital.
A 17-year-old was reportedly charged with killing Jones.

"Officers were called to the 1600 block of Maple Lane on Tuesday afternoon on a report of a man with a gunshot wound," the Chicago Tribune reported.
The killing was the culmination of an "ongoing dispute," the Tribune said, noting that the 17-year-old has not been publicly identified and that he was being held in the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center Detention Facility.
