30 Downtown Geneva Businesses Lose Power After Underground Cable Fault
Some of the downtown businesses had no power for almost two hours as a result of the bad section of cable, city officials said.

GENEVA, IL — Thirty businesses in downtown Geneva lost power Monday night due to an underground cable fault, city officials said.
Customers on Third Street from Campbell to Franklin streets and on Campbell Street from Second to Third streets were affected around 7:25 p.m.
Crews from the Geneva Public Works Department isolated the bad section of cable and re-energized transformers to restore service between 8:25-9:20 p.m.

In a news release, city officials reminded locals that they should report after-hours or weekend power outages to the Geneva Police Department at 630-232-4736. Police will then dispatch the appropriate Public Works staff to respond.
