Sixty-eight customers in Geneva lost power early Monday morning.

GENEVA, IL — A faulty underground cable was the cause of the power outage early Monday in Geneva's Randall Square subdivision, city officials said Wednesday afternoon.

The outage occurred at about 1:30 a.m., leaving 68 customers without power. The houses affected by the outage were on Shoop Drive, Herrington Road, Danford Way, Miller Road, Blackman Road and Chatham Court.

Crews from the Geneva Public Works Department isolated the problem-causing cable and restored power from alternate feeds by 3:33 a.m.
