Cops: Geneva Teen Tossed Molotov Cocktail at Home, Pickup Truck
Authorities recently issued an arrest warrant for a local 18-year-old who they said used explosives to damage property in April.

Police issued an arrest warrant late last week for an 18-year-old Geneva man who they say firebombed a house and truck this past spring.
Authorities said on July 2 that Dominic M. Castelvecchi, of the 600 block of Cheever Avenue, was aware of the warrant and was preparing to turn himself into custody. His bail was set at $50,000, meaning he would need to post $5,000 in order to be released, according to The Daily Herald.
"According to Geneva police, Castelvecchi and two underage people were drinking alcohol by the Fox River on April 23 when they decided to make Molotov cocktails," the story said. "They drove to Castelvecchi's house, made one, then then threw it at a pickup truck in the driveway of a house on the 100 block of Abbey Lane, destroying the truck."

They then made a second concoction and lobbed it onto a patio in the 900 block of Meadows Road.
Castelvecchi faces one count of aggravated arson, a Class X felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison. He's also been charged with residential arson and two counts each of possession of explosives and criminal damage to property.
