GENEVA, IL — Geneva residents going on vacation or needing someone to take care of their furry friends during the workday now have another easy solution in town.

The city's first Dogtopia, an all-day dog daycare and spa, opened at 2423 Fargo Blvd. Before its opening, the nearest location was on Randall Road in South Elgin.

The Geneva and Batavia chambers of commerce held a joint ribbon-cutting celebration for the business Oct. 28. Owner Rakhee Gupta cut the ribbons. The Geneva Chamber's was held by Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns and Chamber Board Chair Michael Olson. Jamie Saam, from Bulldog Plumbing and Start Something Studio, and Nicole Newell, of Byline Bank, held the Batavia Chamber ribbon.
