Geneva Drivers: Look Alive for Lane Closures Wednesday

A bridge investigation will lead to a single-lane closure starting at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6.

Drivers should expect delays Wednesday as Kane County Division of Transportation workers inspect a Geneva bridge.

The endeavor will lead to a single-lane closure starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday near the Randall Road bridge that passes over the Union Pacific Railroad, according to Kane County Connects. Work should wrap up around 3 p.m.

"The inspections are being conducted as part of the county’s ongoing bridge inspection and maintenance programs," the story says. "Information obtained during the inspections is used to determine load rates for the structures as well as to plan future bridge maintenance, rehabilitation and/or replacement projects."
