Power Outage On Geneva's West Side: All Customers Back Online
The Tuesday outage appears to have stemmed from a faulty underground cable by one of the city's wastewater lift stations, officials said.
GENEVA, IL — A power outage caused about 550 Geneva customers to lose service Tuesday morning, city officials said.
As of 10:28 a.m., power was restored to all customers in the outage area, generally bound by Western Avenue to Peck Road and from Keslinger Road to Fabyan Parkway. About 82 percent of customers, including both Geneva middle schools, were back online by 9:10 a.m., according to an update.
The outage, which began around 7:40 a.m., appears to have stemmed from a faulty underground cable by the city's wastewater lift station near Fabyan Parkway and Western Avenue, officials said.
