Wood Utility Poles In Geneva Scheduled For Inspection
More than 2,000 wood utility poles across Geneva will be inspected over the course of four or five weeks.
GENEVA, IL — More than 2,000 wood utility poles across Geneva are scheduled to be inspected beginning Nov. 11.
The city's contractor, Osmose, will conduct sound and boring tests as well as identify communication attachments on 2,138 poles. The inspections will not disrupt electric service, officials said.
Osmose crews will work from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays over the course of four or five weeks, weather permitting. Workers will wear reflective vests with the company logo on the back. Company trucks will also be marked.
